Seniors

The Seniors met Monaghan Harps on Sunday last.  Strong wind played its part. The lads got off to a good start and when Conor McCarthy stepped in side the defence to put the home side 5 points up things were looking good. Conor chipped another effort against the bar a few minutes later and avoiding going 8 down seemed to galvanise the Harps. The teams exchanged points to half time leaving the score 1-8 to 6. With the wind at their backs and their ability to take some fine long range scores the Harps had reduced their deficit to just 2 points. The teams traded points in the last 10 minutes and a late goal from Paul Sherlock sealed the tie for the home team 2-13 to 13 points. Team Rory Beggan, Paul Sherlock, Mark Duffy, Damian McArdle, Brendan Boylan, Donal Morgan, Fergal McPhillips, Frank Caulfield, Ross McKenna, Jamie McCarey, Ciaran Hughes, Dermot McCrudden, Oran Heaphy, Conor McCarthy, Shane Carey.

Next Senior outing is on Saturday 28th away to Clontibret @7pm

Juniors

The Juniors had their first win of the year on Saturday last when the took the spoils in St Melan by a single point. But for the woodwork and a number of fine saves from the Truagh keeper this could have been a much stronger margin. The same opposition will be their opponents in the first round of the Junior Championship next Sunday. The teams meet @ 4.45pm in Emyvale. The lads won’t need any reminding that Truagh in the championship is a whole new prospect.

Reserves

The Reserves had a hard fought win in blustery conditions up in Latton last Wednesday when they came away with a three point win. Not taking full advantage of having the wind at their backs in the first half  they had to show all their ball playing skills to end up with a 10 to 1-4 victory.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the U10’s on their performance and success in Silverbridge on Saturday last. Huge thanks to the parents and coaches who travelled on the day.

Umpires

We are fortunate to have a number of fine referees  in club.In many cases they need the help of umpires to do the best job possible. The referees are looking for people to put their name forward to create a group that can help out. The more names the less often you could be called on. Don’t put it on the long finger, contact the Chairperson or one of the referees.

Huge Thank You

With the season in full swing and Kilmore buzzing every evening of the week it’s an appropriate time to say ‘Thank You’ to all the coaches. Each coach gives generously of their time to make sure all our young players have the chance learn new skills. It can be a challenge to give up time to help a team prepare for game when you may have another child away playing at another venue. It’s at these sessions that the success of the future is built.
