Health and Wellbeing Talk

A big audience listened as Sharon Courtney gave a fascinating talk about nutrition. For sports people, indeed all of us she recommended that we plan what we eat and eat small and often.

Results

Our ladies team were back in action against Tyholland on Sunday morning. A great team effort by the girls resulted in a well deserved victory. It was great to see Laura Carey back in the jersey after a reoccurring injury that had her sidelined since 2015. Team: Laura Carey  Eleanor Murphy , Shannon Tracey, Alision Mc Bride, Laura Holohan, Casey Treanor, Mary Murphy, Lisa Treanor, Abbie Mc Carey (1-02) Caoimhe Mohan(1-03) Sarah O Connell (1-02) , Megan Boylan (1-02) , Ciara Kilpatrick(1-04) , Orlaigh Smyth ( 2-04), Alanna Mc Carey (0-01).

The girls continue with their preparation for their Championship game against St Bridget’s on May 14th.

The Minors had a strong second half performance against Aughnamullen but were unable to overcome the half time deficit. The U16 won a very tight game at home to Magheracloone, with the U14 Boys coming off best in their battle with Latton. The U16 girls were not as fortunate in their game with Carrick. The Senior B’ shared the spoils with Truagh after being 6 points down at half time.

“Vegas Experience”

The club are holding a fundraiser on 13th May in the Complex. This will be your chance to dust of anything in your wardrobe that has a sparkle and experience the ‘Razzmatazz’ of a Vegas Night out. Tickets are on sale for 10€ each. The 10€ ticket get you an opportunity to play some casino style games on real Vegas tables but with ‘Vegas’ dollars. The top ten earners face off in a ‘final showdown’ with the winner taking home the top prize on the night (2nd and 3rd as well) but I think the big thing will be the bragging rights. Other prizes will include best dressed and fittest man or woman (see the facebook page to find out how the senior players are getting on). Some of you favorite fairground games are also sure to make an appearance.
