Finally we have the results of our 2016 Prediction Quiz.
This year’s top prize goes to……. Mary McConnon (seller – Padraig Keenan) with a points total of 87 points.
Mary predicted the winner in 16 out of the 24 events. Top prize heads out of the club for the second year in a row…only this time to neighbouring club Sean’s. Congratulations Mary, you pick up the winning prize of €600.
Only 2 points back was Conor McNally (seller – Shane Carey) on 85 points. Conor also got 16 events correct. Conor collects €150 for his efforts.
In 3rd place was Marie McNally (seller – Daniel McNally) on 82 points. Marie takes home €100 for predicting 13 events.
And finally Peter Lynch picks a €100 prize for finishing 4th. (As we had a lady winner this year).
Other notable mentions for top 10 finishes…
Fergal wins the bragging rights in the Keenan household over Christmas. No one can ever say Bernie Sherry doesn’t know her sport…8th spot.
Big Ben, finally they will have take your predictions more seriously from now on in the social club…finishing in a very respectable 9th. Can we find a position for this man on the line this coming year?
Noel O Callaghan, just misses out on the prize money which will hurt him bad. Still, no shame in 6th place.
Peadar Sherry just slips into the top 10.
Interestingly on the GAA only events, Damian Martin was the winner with 44 points predicting 8 out of 11 events.
Thank you to everyone who took part. Thanks to all the sellers, especially the players who put in a big effort to making it another successful event. And thanks to Donal Morgan and Mark Duffy who helped organise and record many of the prediction cards. Your support is very appreciated.
All that remains to say is…
Happy Christmas all,
Scotstown GAA.
