Latest Update - June 28th
Our gates opened on Wednesday, June 24th, and our adults have been out training. From Saturday 27th June our minors and juveniles can train at our facilities. Please keep mind the following;
1. The indoor buildings remain closed.
2. Please use the outdoor set of toilets
3. Only outdoor facilities can be used
4. Only people that are training are allowed on the pitch.

5. Please remember the 3 C's - Avoid Crowds, Avoid Closed Spaces, Avoid Close Contact

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee. These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.
This week:
Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour. Recommendations were made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee this morning.
From June 29th:
The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). Allianz Division 2 National Football League Round 1
We’re not long into 2025 and the Intercounty football action rises up a gear following the recent entertaining charity challenge games with the opening fixtures of the National Football League this weekend. Monaghan are playing in Division 2 this year and are the same league as Cavan, Cork, Down, Louth, Meath, Roscommon and Westmeath. Monaghan are playing Cavan away in Kingspan Breffni Park this Saturday 25th January at 6:00pm. All the best to our Blues on the County panel, and the rest of the Monaghan team, and the management. You can get your tickets at McMahon’s Centra Scotstown. No ticket sales at the ground. The full Monaghan fixture list is as follows. Senior Football Charity Match – Monaghan 1-19 Fermanagh 0-17
The Monaghan senior team played Fermanagh on Saturday last in Tempo. Well done to the team and management in their 1-19 to 0-17 win. This was a challenge charity game in aid of Air Ambulance. Well done to our Blues on the panel; Rory Beggan, Ryan O’Toole, Conor McCarthy, Gavin McPhillips, Micheál McCarville, and Jack McCarron, with brilliant scores from Conor (1 point from play); Rory (4, Two x 2 point free); Jack (3, One x 2 point from play, 1 point from free).
National League Tickets

Rory Beggan named joint Vice-Captain of Monaghan Senior team
Well done Rory Beggan on being appointed joint Vice-Captain of the Senior Monaghan GAA team along with Ryan McAnespie. We wish Rory, Ryan and newly appointed captain Micheál Bannigan and the team and management the very best this year.
Gaelic Life Ulster Club All Stars Men's Football Team of the year

Scotstown GAA Online Club Lotto – Jackpot €8,600
Thanks to everyone involved in our online lotto draw for a €8,400 jackpot on Wednesday 22nd January. Please see our Social Media platforms for more details of the results.
In the January 15th draw, there was NO Jackpot winner. Numbers drawn on the night were 3, 4, 15, 28. There was ONE match 3 w1nner, Catherine O'Donoghue who wins €100. We had 4 Lucky-Dip winners, Siobhan Fitzgerald, Anita Daly, Evelyn Matthews, and Ann Murray who win €20 each. Congratulations to all our winners! The Scotstown GAA online Lotto Draw takes place every Wednesday at 8:30pm with last entries at 8pm. The draw is conducted on-line and is fully automated using secure facilities. There are 4 numbers to choose from a range of 1 to 31. Match the 4 numbers to win the Jackpot of €8,600. If no jackpot winner €200 is rolled over to the following week. Also if there is no jackpot winner there will be lucky dips. Next draw is Wednesday 29th January at 8:30pm.
Ciste Draw
The January Ciste draw will take place this Saturday night, January 25th at 10:00pm, in the Social Club. You can purchase your Ciste tickets in our local shops. There are tickets, envelopes and collection boxes in each of these shops; McMahon Centra, Scotstown; XL Ballinode & Killylough, and in Knockatallon. You can also purchase your Ciste tickets using the Scotstown Clubforce website and clicking on ‘buy event tickets’ link. First prize €1,000 and 5 prizes of €100 must be won. In total €18,000 in prize money is won every year!

We fondly remember fundraising projects in the past, such as the Scotstown Carnival in the 1960s to the purchase of our main field at Urbleshanny, The Lord Mayor Campaign in the 1980s to fund the building of Sportlann Mhuire (the complex) and development of St. Marys Park and indeed, the ambitious purchase Of Kilmore in 1995 which has contributed to the outstanding success we achieve today.

Conor McManus retirement
Scotstown GAA would like to wish Conor McManus all the best after retiring from an illustrious 18 year service to intercounty football for Monaghan. Thanks Conor for all the treasured memories, successes, and being a brilliant team member and role model. We wish you all the best in the future,
Health and Wellbeing
Scotstown GAA will continue in 2025 with its Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. During 2024 we continued the Make a Ceili initiative which was launched before Christmas. In January / February saw the start of the Operation Transformation walk, the Scotstown Ladies hosted a Women’s Health talk, a drugs and Alcohol awareness workshop with our coaches, and we had several card nights during the first quarter. During May we had the Hello How are you? Campaign and in August, a community event after the Blessing of the Graves. In November we had daffodil planting in Kilmore and in November we had the return of the card nights for the winter.
Charity Fun Run / Walk – Scotstown GAA Health and Wellbeing
Date for your diary, 3rd February. Scotstown GAA Health and Wellbeing committee are organising a Charity Fun Run / Walk in aid of the Dillon Quirke foundation. This will be held on Bank Holiday Monday February 3rd. Registration from 10:30am
€5 pp or €10 for a family

Teas/coffees and home baked goods throughout the morning along with some surprises
“Quiet time” - a short block of 30mins has been dedicated for this event to allow families from far and near who would like to take part but may find the main event overwhelming.
The organizers are encouraging families should they wish to come along, to join at 10am. There will be disabled parking and accessibility, reduced traffic and personnel, and no sound system in operation during this 30minute block”.
Card Playing night on January 31st
Scotstown GAA are inviting everyone to come along and play Cards in the Scotstown complex on Friday 31st January at 8pm especially young people who want to learn the game of 45, there will be card players there on the night to guide and help, fun night ahead don’t let our traditional card games become a thing of the past. The card nights will continue every subsequent fortnight on Friday nights till the end of April.

The Scór na nÓg All Ireland Finals take place this Saturday 25th January in the Hillgrove hotel, Monaghan. All the best to our Tráth na gCeist County champions quiz team Eanna McCarey, Conn Deery, Conor McMeel and James Mullen, mentors Brenda McCarey and Theresa Mohan, and parents in the All Ireland Table Quiz final!
Please note the All Ireland Senior scor final is in Mayo on April 26. The Ulster final is April 5th. The Ulster semifinal between Monaghan Antrim Donegal Fermanagh and Armagh Saturday is March 22nd.

Scór Ceili in Four Seasons
In preparation for the finals Monaghan Scor have organised a Ceili in 4 Seasons Hotel from 7.00 to 9.00pm this Friday evening. Admission free. At this event our young quiz team will presented with a set of jerseys by Monaghan GAA Chairman Declan Flanagan. Please come along and show your support for our Club representatives.
