Scotstown GAA Senior Men win the Owen Ward Cup!!
Loughman Sports Senior Football League Final
Scotstown seniors won the league and championship double this year when they beat Ballybay in the Loughman Sports Monaghan Senior league final in Gavan Duffy park, Monaghan Harps. A large crowd attended a highly entertaining final with both sides exchanging leads on several occasions. The first half was a cagey affair with both sides taking the lead 3 times each and scoring some fine points. Ballybay were in front at half time 0-6 to 0-5. Ballybay started the second half strongly and scored a goal in the first minute. Scotstown responded positively and over the following 15 minutes scored 3 brilliant points without reply to level the score at 0-9 to 1-6. Ballybay regained the lead in the 46th minute, but Scotstown responded strongly again and took the lead with 10 minutes remaining with 2 further well placed points. The last 10 minutes were tense as Ballybay sought to equalise, but the Blues defended well and added 3 more brilliant points to secure the Owen Ward cup with a scoreline of 0-14 to 1-8. Congratulations to the team and David and the management on winning the Senior League final and all the best this Sunday against Erne Gaels in the Ulster Senior Championship quarter final. Hard luck and commiserations to Ballybay GAA. Many thanks to Monaghan Harps for hosting the final.

During May we had the Hello How are you? Campaign and in August, a community event after the Blessing of the Graves. We will update future initiatives here.
