Return to Football – 2021 Competitive Football up and running!
The 2021 Club Football season commenced on Monday last 7th June. Please note, in terms of attendances, 100 spectators will be permitted to attend GAA games (club and inter county). This number is in addition to players, team personnel, stewards or media attendees. For underage games, where parents are attending in a child-protection capacity, they will count as part of the 100 spectators permitted to attend. After over 7 months without any competitive club football it is a tremendous development to have games up and running again. Thanks to all our players, coaches, managers, volunteers, members and everyone else involved in the dedicated work to safely bring about the Return of Football. Thanks also to everyone involved in Monaghan GAA and the GAA for the organisation and administration of the 2021 competition.

Latest Covid-19 Restrictions Update for June, July and August
The Government has announced the updated schedule for reopening the country from the Covid 19 Pandemic lockdown for June, July and August. On Monday, June 7th, Pubs and restaurants can serve customers outdoors. There will be no distinction between pubs that serve food and those that don’t. Gyms may also reopen on this date, but for individual training only. Those in an unvaccinated private household can welcome visitors from one other unvaccinated household indoor. Please note that our GAA indoor facilities including dressing rooms, club shop, social club, gyms etc. will remained CLOSED until further notice. This is in accordance with the GAA's Covid Advisory Group's guidelines. Whenever we are given the guidelines to enable us to give definitive dates of resumption of any of our activities and facilities, we will update you here and on our Clubforce app. Please adhere to the general government and HSE guidelines, on washing your hands, keeping your distance and abide by the current restrictions. Thanks for your patience and understanding. It is encouraging to see these significant developments on the horizon and please keep in mind, the club is still here to help out in our community.
Health and Wellbeing
As the country opens up is encouraging to see more people out and about, (while still keeping pandemic safety in mind), whether its for a walk around Kilmore, training, looking forward to a summer of football and safely meeting people outdoors again and raising their emotional wellbeing. Scotstown GAA is going for the Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. This is a timely initiative for a post Covid-19 world and we look forward to the Healthy Club project in our future and recovery from the pandemic.
Phone a Ceili
It is an encouraging development that people from one household only can visit another household. But for those who are still nervous of physical visits given the ongoing Pandemic, we can still make contact with those we care about and / or are cocooning, living alone or vulnerable. They would really appreciate a phone call, letter or card just to say "I'm thinking about you, keep safe and stay strong." So please, Phone a Ceili, write a Letter, send a Card and keep in touch over the winter months and we are always here to help in anyway. We ask all our committee members and players to phone a ceili twice a week. If you would like a committee member or player to phone you, please contact our Chairman Shane on 086 836 7997.
Good Luck to Students
All the best to the Leaving Cert Junior Cert and anyone else doing exams over the next month.
