Scotstown GAA Club Notes. 21/07/2020
2020 Monaghan Club Senior and Juvenile Championship – Attendance and Screening Details
Phase 4 of the Government’s roadmap to reopening has been delayed to August 10th and as a result the maximum outdoor attendances for GAA games is limited to 200. This includes players, officials, backroom staff, media etc.
We have established a system of applying for limited tickets for the major championship fixtures over the next number of weeks. This involves completing a short questionnaire, giving your contact details, on our Survey Monkey account or filling out the forms available in the 4 shops in the parish. These applications are then drawn with precedence given to members of the club. For ticket allocation.
We are going to stream live online our senior football championship game against Truagh so you can see the action live from the comfort of your own home! Please see our Social media accounts for further details.

Ciste Draw Returns this Saturday
CISTE will return this Saturday 25th of July. As you are aware we had to suspend our monthly draw in March and subsequent draws due to Covid-19 regulations. Unfortunately due to current Covid 19 restrictions the draw cannot be made through our normal setting and will be done through our Facebook Page Live with 4 people present at 10:30pm. All tickets which were due to go into the March draw will now be carried forward to the July draw. Tickets for the April draw will be forwarded to the August draw and so on.

Tickets are also available in McMahons shop and from committee members. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support and patience.

GAA Revised ‘Safe Return to Gaelic Games’ Guidance and our continuing community help
Phase 4 of the Government’s Reopening the country’s roadmap has been postponed from July 20th to Monday August 10th. This would have seen more restrictions eased. The GAA had issued a revised statement regarding its own guidelines of reopening for us, which are already in effect. This included for pitches to reopen for training and competitive football only. This is on the understanding that players and all participants have completed the eLearning module and are following the control measures in place (health questionnaire etc) and is on the basis of a maximum of 15 players in a designated area of the field. For games a maximum of 200 in attendance including players, officials, backroom staff, media etc.
Please note that our GAA indoor facilities including dressing rooms, club shop, social club, gyms etc. will remained CLOSED until further notice. This is in accordance with the GAA's Covid Advisory Group's guidelines. Whenever we are given the guidelines to enable us to give definitive dates of resumption of any of our activities and facilities, we will update you here and on our Clubforce app. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
We would also like to continue and reinforce our message that we are here to help. Scotstown GAA would like to reassure those in our community that we are still here to help, even as we slowly unwind this notice here. Football is nothing without its people and the community past and future.
Please continue to follow the HSE and government guidelines which are frequently posted. We would also like to praise and thank the front-line staff in the services during this time and all the goodwill that is happening in our community. Thanks everyone for abiding by the latest staying safe, washing hands and social distancing guidelines and for being patient during this time. Many thanks to all our volunteers involved.
