Allianz Division 1 National Football League Round 5 – Monaghan v Galway
Monaghan next play Galway at home in Round 5 in Clones this Sunday 3rd March at 3:15pm. All the best to our Blues on the County panel, and the rest of the Monaghan team, and the management. You can get your tickets at McMahon’s Centra Scotstown. On Sunday afternoon last in Round 4 Monaghan lost away to a strong Roscommon side by 1-16 to 0-7. Hard luck to the team and management and to our Blues that played Darren Hughes, Jack McCarron, Micheal McCarville and Ryan O’Toole, with fine scores by Jack McCarron (2 points) and Micheal McCarville (1 point). Lidl Ladies Division 2 National Football League Round 5
The Monaghan ladies next play Cavan at home in Round 5 of the National Ladies League Division 2 on Sunday 3rd March at 1:00pm in Clones. We wish our players on the panel, Casey Treanor, Megan Boylan, Eabha Sherry, Hannah Sherlock, Celine Nally, Katie McCaffery and Katie Sherlock, and the rest of the team and management the very best.

A massive congratulations to Éabha Sherry who was named on the overall Gaelic Life Team of the week after her amazing 1-8 tally of scores against Donegal on Sunday of last week. Well done Éabha!

Under 18 Monaghan Minor Girls – Round 2 of Ulster championship
The Monaghan minors next play Antrim at home in Round 2 of Tier 1 in the Ulster Minor LGFA Championship on Saturday 2nd March at 2:00pm. We wish our Blues on the panel Micheala Grew and Shannon Corrigan, and the team and management the very best.
Under 16 Girls – Ulster Championship
Congratulations to our Scotstown Under 16 girls; Ava mc Ginnity; Aoife Corrigan; Eimear Larmer; Ellie Graham; Hollie Mullen; Isobel Waddington; Katie Mc Cormick; Kristy Mc Cabe for making the Monaghan LGFA Under 16 panel. Their first game of their season was last Saturday in Cloghan where they played Tyrone in Round 1 of the Under 16 Ulster Championship. Hard luck in their narrow 3-8 to 3-6 defeat. They next play Cavan away in Round 2 on Saturday 9th March at 2:00pm.
Under 14 Girls Festival of Football
This Saturday 2nd March the intercounty Under 14’s LGFA Ulster Festival of Football commences. Monaghan play Armagh at 11:30am and Antrim 12:30pm in Armagh. We wish our players on the panel, Nadine Boylan, Serena Boylan and Mia Corrigan, and the rest of the team and management, the very best.
Ulster Junior Club Football League
Well done to our Junior team and management in their exciting 1-8 all draw against Newtownbutler in Aghabog on Wednesday night of last week in Round 4 of the Ulster Junior Club League Section B Round 4 game. Thanks to Aghabog for hosting the game. They next play Ballyhegan of Armagh away in Ballyhegan in Round 2 this Sunday 3rd March at 10:30am. We wish the team and management the very best.
The Big Prediction Quiz has commenced- €2,500 in Prizes
We are having the popular Prediction Competition Quiz from previous years for this year’s National Football League games which commenced 4 weeks ago.
First overall prize is €1,000, plus a weekly prize of €100 for score of the week.
Prizes = 1st €1,000, 2nd €500, 3rd, €300. Tied scores will split the prize money

Scotstown GAA Online Club Lotto – Jackpot €16,000!!
Thanks to everyone involved in our online lotto draw for a €15,800 jackpot on Wednesday 28th February. Please see our Social Media platforms for more details of the results.
In the February 21st draw there was no Jackpot winner. Numbers drawn on the night were 20, 23, 26, 28. There was Match 1 Winner, Leona Keenan. who wins €100. We had 3 Lucky Dip winners, Siobhan Fitzgerald, Teresa Gallagher, and Dermot McCrudden who win €20 each. Congratulations to all our winners! The Scotstown GAA online Lotto Draw takes place every Wednesday at 8:30pm with last entries at 8pm. The draw is conducted on-line and is fully automated using secure facilities. There are 4 numbers to choose from a range of 1 to 31. Match the 4 numbers to win the Jackpot of €16,000. If no jackpot winner €200 is rolled over to the following week. Also if there is no jackpot winner there will be lucky dips. Next draw is Wednesday February 28th at 8:30pm.

Scotstown GAA Table Quiz
There will be an adult’s Fun table quiz in the Scotstown GAA Social Club on Saturday 9th March at 8:30pm. A fun night of general knowledge, music and picture rounds. Lots of spot prizes.
Juvenile Registration this Friday night
This Friday 1st March, there will be juvenile registration night in the Scotstown Complex from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Membership 2024 – Now open for payment on Clubspot
You can register for 2024 Membership on our Clubspot app. Please go to Menu, select Memberships, Buy Membership and select your appropriate option. Please note players must be registered before they start training. Any teams who have started group trainings should register asap.
Health and Wellbeing
Scotstown GAA continues this year with its Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve.
During the winter months we renewed the Make a Ceili initiative which was launched recently. This month saw the start of the Operation Transformation walk, the Scotstown Ladies hosted a Women’s Health talk and we had several card nights.
Card Playing night
Well done to everyone involved on another successful card night on Friday night last in the Scotstown GAA Social Club. We will be having further Card nights in the future and are inviting everyone to come along and play Cards especially young people who want to learn the game of 45. There will be card players there on the night to guide and help, fun night ahead don’t let our traditional card games become a thing of the past. This is part of our Silver Healthy Club.
Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others – G4MO Blitz in the Connacht GAA Air Dome
Well done to the G4MO Ladies in their Blitz in the Dome in Claremorris Mayo on Saturday last. Brilliant experience for the ladies and lots of fun. Thanks to Claremorris LGFA for brilliantly hosting the event. Gaelic For Mothers & others outdoor training has ended for the year and training will be indoors from now on. All welcome to come along. As there is no competition for the group there is no pressure to attend every week. You can join in at any stage and come when it suits you. You need to be over 25 and living in the parish. Why not come all and give it a go!!

The Monaghan GAA Gaeltacht Scholarship scheme is open for applications. In order to apply, applicants must complete an application form in full. For application forms please email secretary.scotstown.monaghan@gaa.ie
