Latest Update - June 28th
Our gates opened on Wednesday, June 24th, and our adults have been out training. From Saturday 27th June our minors and juveniles can train at our facilities. Please keep mind the following;
1. The indoor buildings remain closed.
2. Please use the outdoor set of toilets
3. Only outdoor facilities can be used
4. Only people that are training are allowed on the pitch.
"GET IN, TRAIN, GET OUT!"
5. Please remember the 3 C's - Avoid Crowds, Avoid Closed Spaces, Avoid Close Contact

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee. These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.
This week:
Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour. Recommendations were made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee this morning.
From June 29th:
The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). Our Blues Competitive Games in the past week
Under 14s
Round 4 of the Under 14 League competition were completed last weekend with the postponed Scotstown A team’s game against Truagh in Round 4 of the Under 14 League Competition Division 1 played on Friday last. Well done in their win. The Scotstown A team next play Monaghan Harps away in Round 5 of the Under 14 League Competition Division 1 this Saturday 11th May at 12:00pm. The U14 Scotstown B team had no games in the past week. The Scotstown B team next play Inniskeen at home in Round 5 of the Under 14 League Competition Division 5A on Sunday May 12th at 11:00am. The Scotstown C team next play Corduff at home at home in Round 7 of the Under 14 League Competition Division 5B on Friday last. Date TBC.
Under 16s
The Under 16s away game against Castleblayney away in Round 1 of the Under 16 Division 1B League scheduled for Thursday of last week was cancelled. Hard luck to our Under 16 boys B team in their 4-16 to 4-4 defeat to Truagh in Round 6 of the Under 16 Division 5A League on Wednesday of last week. They next play Carrickmacross at home in Round 7 of the Under 16 Division 5A League on Wednesday May 8th at 7:30pm.
Minors
Our Minor A team had no games in the past week. They next play Castleblayney away in Round 5 of the Minor Division 1 League on Tuesday May 7th at 7:30pm.
Our Minor B team played a thrilling high scoring game against Castleblayney at home in Round 2 of the Minor Division 5 League on Tuesday last. Well done in their 6-10 to 7-6 win. They next play Aughnamullen at home in Round 1 of the Minor Division 5 League on Friday 17th May at 7:30pm.
Senior Men
Our Senior men continued their senior league campaign with a home game on Saturday evening last for Round 3. Well done in their 1-13 to 1-8 win. They next play Inniskeen away in Round 4 of the Senior League this Saturday May 11th at 7:00pm.
Junior Men
Our Junior men played their Round 3 game on Saturday evening last against Eire Óg away. Hard luck in their 3-9 to 2-10 defeat. They next play Toome at home in Round 4 of the Junior League on Saturday 11th May at 7:00pm.
Senior Division 1A Reserves
Well done to the Senior reserves in their 0-19 to 1-13 away win against Donaghmoyne in Round 1 of the Reserve League Division 1A on Wednesday of last week. They next play Inniskeen at home in Round 5 of the Reserve League Division 1A on Friday 17th May at 8:00pm.
Junior Division 3A Reserves
Our Junior 3A Reserves had no games in the past week. They next play Blackhill away this Wednesday 8th May at 7:45pm in Round 5 of the Reserve League Division 3A.
Junior Division 3B Reserves
Our Junior 3B Reserves had no games in the past week. They next play Truagh at home in Round 3 of the Reserve League Football Division 3B on Sunday 12th May at 2:00pm.
Senior Ladies
The Scotstown senior ladies continued their senior LGFA Reserve League Division 1 campaign with a round 7 home game against Magheracloone. Well done in their 4-8 to 3-8 win. They next play Emyvale at home this Sunday 12th May at 11:00am in Round 4 of the LGFA Senior League Division 1.
Under 18 Minor Girls
Well done to the Scotstown Minor girls in their win against Killanny at home in Round 2 of the LGFA Under 18 Division 1 on Thursday last. They next play Aughnamullen away in Round 3 of the LGFA Under 18 Division 1 this Thursday 9th May at 7:00pm.
Under 16 Girls
Well done to the Under 16 girls A team in their win against Latton at home in Round 3 of the LGFA Under 16 Division 1 on Monday last. They next play O’Neill Shamrocks away in Round 4 of the LGFA Under 16 Division 1 on Monday 20th May at 7:00pm. The Under 16 girls B team had no games in the past week. The Under 16 girls B team next play Monaghan Harps at home in Round 3 of the LGFA Under 16 Division 2 this Tuesday 7th May at 7:00pm.

Monaghan Intercounty Senior Football
The draw for the All Ireland Groups stages have been and Monaghan have been drawn in Group 4 along with Kerry, Meath and the runners up of the Leinster final between Dublin and Louth. Monaghan’s first game will be the weekend of the 18th May away to Kerry. We wish our Blues on the panel, and the rest of the team and management the very best. You can get your tickets in McMahons Centra Scotstown.

You can purchase your tickets for the Round 1 Kerry v Monaghan All Ireland Group stages game in Killarney (weekend 18th May) in McMahon’s Centra Scotstown shop through the Ticketmaster system.
LGFA Ulster Senior Ladies Intermediate Championship Semi Final – Monaghan 2-10 Tyrone 0-12
The Monaghan Ladies played Tyrone at home in Eire Og’s ground in Smithborough in the Ulster Intermediate Championship Semi Final on Sunday last. Well done to the ladies in securing an Ulster Final spot with their 2-10 to 0-12 win. They now face Down in the LGFA Ulster Senior Ladies Intermediate Championship Final this Sunday 19th May. We wish our players on the panel, Casey Treanor, Megan Boylan, Eabha Sherry, Hannah Sherlock, Celine Nally, Katie McCaffery and Katie Sherlock, and the rest of the team and management the very best in the Ulster Final.
2024 Ulster Minor Football Championship
Hard luck to the Monaghan Minors in their 2-12 to 0-8 defeat against Donegal away on Saturday last in Round 5 of the Ulster Minor Championship group stages. Monaghan are in Group A with Down, Donegal, Fermanagh & Tyrone and after winning 2 out of their 4 games have finished 3rd and are playing Armagh away in the quarter final in the Athletic Grounds this Saturday 11th May at 1:30pm. We wish Darcy Foy, Mark McCaffrey and Cathal McElwain and the rest of the Monaghan team and management the very best.
Under 16s Girls Bronze Ulster Final – Monaghan 5-11 Derry 1-12.
The Monaghan Under 16 girls qualified for the Final of the LGFA Ulster Under 16 Bronze Championship which took place last Sunday against Derry in Donagh. Well done to the team and management and our players on the panel, Ava McGinnity; Aoife Corrigan; Eimear Larmer; Ellie Graham; Hollie Mullen; Isobel Waddington; Katie Mc Cormick and Kristy Mc Cabe in their 5-11 to 1-12 victory and winning the Ulster Bronze Final.

Pat Meehan Memorial Cup and Shield Competition
Congratulations and well done to our Scotstown U14 teams who won both the Pat Meehan Memorial Cup and Shield in St Mellan’s Truagh on Saturday last. Thanks to everyone in Truagh Gaels for inviting us to this well-run tournament. All the boys had a brilliant day.

Health and Wellbeing
Scotstown GAA continues this year with its Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve.
During the winter months we renewed the Make a Ceili initiative which was launched before Christmas. Earlier in January / February saw the start of the Operation Transformation walk, the Scotstown Ladies hosted a Women’s Health talk, a drugs and Alcohol awareness workshop with our coaches, and we had several card nights throughout the winter.
Darkness into Light walk this Saturday 11th May
Kilmore Hub and Henrys Cafe are supporting Darkness Into Light 2024 to raise vital funds for Pieta and people affected by suicide and self-harm. This Saturday 11th May at 4.15am in Kilmore, Scotstown. Enjoy a coffee in Henry's afterwards, open from 4.30am. €1 from all coffee purchased until 10.30am will be donated to Pieta House.
Hello, How Are You? On 15th May
Hello, How Are You? is a national campaign about connection and engaging in open conversations about mental health. The Mental Health Ireland HELLO, How Are You? campaign aims to tackle the lack of connection or belonging that people experience by inspiring individuals to ask how others are feeling. This opens up a conversation to allow people to listen and encourage action by signposting to local supports and services. Please see our Social Media platforms on how we will link into this campaign on May 15th.

The match day group would like to thank the senior team and management for leaving the dressing room spotless after their last home game. Also thanks to the U16 girls team and away team left everything spotless on Monday night also. Much appreciated.
