Latest Update - June 28th
Our gates opened on Wednesday, June 24th, and our adults have been out training. From Saturday 27th June our minors and juveniles can train at our facilities. Please keep mind the following;
1. The indoor buildings remain closed.
2. Please use the outdoor set of toilets
3. Only outdoor facilities can be used
4. Only people that are training are allowed on the pitch.

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee. These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.
This week:
Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour. Recommendations were made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee this morning.
From June 29th:
The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). Scotstown GAA win Senior and Minor Monaghan County Championship Double
Scotstown won their first Senior and Minor County Championship double since 1981 in Clones on Sunday last. A massive congratulations to both teams and managements! Please see match reports below.
2024 Minor Championship Final – Scotstown 0-17 Monaghan Harps 2-6
The Scotstown Minor boys won the Minor Division 1 Championship final against Monaghan Harps on Sunday last in Clones. Well done and congratulations to the team and management in their 0-17 to 2-6 win in challenging weather against a strong Monaghan Harps side. The Blues started strongly and took a 4 point advantage after 4 minutes with fine scores by Darcy Foy (2), Ellis Foy and Sean Og McElwain. However Monaghan Harps responded strongly and took a 5 point lead with 2 goals in 3 minutes and a scoreline of 2-3 to 0-4. Scotstown regained their composure and with half time there was a just a kick of a ball between the 2 sides after 2 well placed points by Cathal McElwain and Darcy Foy with a scoreline of 2-3 to 0-6. Scotstown started the second half strongly and were level after 3 points with brilliant points by Tommy Mallen, Darcy Foy, and Max Maguire. Th Blues regained the lead after 41 minutes with two fine points by Darcy Foy and Sean Og McElwain. During the next 10 minutes Scotstown extended their lead to 5 points with excellent points by Darcy Foy (2), Sean Og McElwain (2) and Ellis Foy. Darcy Foy scored another fine point to secure the win with a final score of 0-17 to 2-6. Well done to the team and management. Hard luck and commiserations to Monaghan Harps and thanks to Clones GAA for hosting. Congratulations to Darcy Foy on winning man of the match. The Minors next play in the Ulster Minor Championship, the St Paul’s Tournament. More details to follow on draw and dates.

2024 Senior Championship County Final – Scotstown 1-10 Clontibret 0-8
Scotstown retained the Greenfield Foods Monaghan Senior Football Championship with a 1-10 to 0-8 win over Clontibret in challenging weather in Clones on Sunday last. Congratulations to the team and management in securing the Blues 23rd championship.
The score was 2 points to 1 in favour of Scotstown after a cagey opening quarter with Rory Beggan (45) and Jack McCarron (free) on target for Scotstown with well place points. The first point from play came from Damien McArdle with a fine score on 19 minutes. Clontibret levelled the game on 25 minutes a 3 points each before a brilliant point from long distance by Conor McCarthy restored Scotstown lead. Clontibret equalised again in the 29th minute before a wll placed free by Jack McCarron in additional time gave Scotstown a one point margin lead going into half time at 0-5 to 0-4. Scotstown took a 2 point advantage during the first 10 minutes of the second half, with fine scores by Shane Carey and Jack McCarron. The game’s key score arrived on 40 minutes when Scotstown turned Clontibret over deep inside their own half, allowing Jack McCarron to send in an excellent well placed shot that rolled into the empty net from 30 metres making the score 1-7 to 0-5 points. Another 13 minutes would pass without either team scoring, then Jack McDevitt, Rory Beggan and Shane Carey added points to maintain Scotstown’s 5 point advantage. Clontibret fought strongly to score a crucial goal, but Scotstown defended well from the Clontibret pressure and secured the Mick Duffy trophy with a final score of 1-10 to 0-8. Gaelic For Mothers and Others
The Gaelic for Mothers & Others have finished their outdoor training for this year. They are starting an indoor session in the Kilmore Hub on Thursdays at 7pm. This is a 6 week block costing €50. New members welcome. Come along and meet some new people and have a bit of fun while getting fit. Booking can be made through Glofox under Courses.

Health and Wellbeing
Scotstown GAA will continue this year with its Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. On October 17th there is a Ulster Healthy Club Provincial Night in Garvaghy, Tyrone.
Early in the year we continued the Make a Ceili initiative which was launched before Christmas. In January / February saw the start of the Operation Transformation walk, the Scotstown Ladies hosted a Women’s Health talk, a drugs and Alcohol awareness workshop with our coaches, and we had several card nights during the first quarter. During May we had the Hello How are you? Campaign and in August, a community event after the Blessing of the Graves. We will update future initiatives here.

GAA Youth Forum – November 2nd
The GAA Youth Forum will be held in Croke Park on Saturday November 2nd, 2024.
The theme of the forum is ‘’Strengthening the youth voice for the next 140 years”.
The GAA Youth Forum will offer a range of interactive workshops and speakers with topics to be addressed including:
- Decision Making Structures
- Communications
- Coach Behaviour & Education
- Addressing Discrimination & Accessibility
- Development & Volunteering Opportunities
The flagship session of the GAA Youth Forum will be the Youth Congress which will see attendees voting on a set of proposals generated throughout the day.
The results of this Congress will be taken forward as recommendations by representatives of the GAA Youth Committee to GAA Congress 2025.
A maximum of 300 delegates between from 12 – 21 years old representing GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs will attend so don’t wait to express your interest.
