Latest Update - June 28th
Our gates opened on Wednesday, June 24th, and our adults have been out training. From Saturday 27th June our minors and juveniles can train at our facilities. Please keep mind the following;
1. The indoor buildings remain closed.
2. Please use the outdoor set of toilets
3. Only outdoor facilities can be used
4. Only people that are training are allowed on the pitch.

5. Please remember the 3 C's - Avoid Crowds, Avoid Closed Spaces, Avoid Close Contact

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee. These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.
This week:
Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour. Recommendations were made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee this morning.
From June 29th:
The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). 2024 Senior Championship County Final – Scotstown v Clontibret this Sunday
Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship Final 2024 – this Sunday 3:00pm in Clones.

Hard luck to the Senior Ladies in the Division 1 league final last Sunday
Our Ladies had qualified for their first ever Senior level final which took place on Sunday last where they played the Senior Championship winners Emyvale in the Division 1 Senior League Cup final. Hard luck and commiserations to the team and management in their 6-14 to 4-5 defeat in stormy weather, but congratulations on reaching the final and putting in a strong performance with a spirited comeback in the first 15 minutes of the second half which saw them reduce a 13 point deficit to 4 points, with 2 goals and 4 points scored. Well done on another brilliant year at senior level with further continuous improvement and all the best in 2025! Congratulations to Emyvale Ladies for winning the league cup. Thanks to Castleblayney Faughs for hosting brilliantly on Sunday last in inclement weather.

2024 Minor Championship Final – Scotstown v Monaghan Harps this Sunday
The Scotstown Minor boys A have qualified for the Minor Division 1 Championship final which will be against Monaghan Harps this Sunday 27th October at 1:00pm in Clones. We wish our Minors the very best in the final! This is part of the double header with the Senior County Final.
Our Blues Upcoming Competitive Fixtures
This Sunday 27th October our Senior Men play Clontibret in the Final of the Greenfield Foods Senior Championship in Clones at 3:00pm and our Minor Boys play Monaghan Harps in the Final of the Maguire Transport Minor Division 1 Championship in Clones at 3:00pm.
On Sunday 3rd November our Senior Men play Ballybay in the Final of the Senior Football League at 2:00pm. Venue TBC.

Gaelic For Mothers and Others
The Gaelic for Mothers & Others have finished their outdoor training for this year. They are starting an indoor session in the Kilmore Hub on Thursdays at 7pm. This is a 6 week block costing €50. New members welcome. Come along and meet some new people and have a bit of fun while getting fit. Booking can be made through Glofox under Courses.
Scotstown GAA Online Club Lotto – Jackpot €6,000
Thanks to everyone involved in our online lotto draw for a €5,800 jackpot on Wednesday 23rd October. Please see our Social Media platforms for more details of the results.
In the October 16th draw, there was NO Jackpot winner. Numbers drawn on the night were 6, 13, 28, 30. There was match 1 winner, Caitriona Deery who wins €100. We had 4 Lucky-Dip winners, Peadar O’Lamhna, Courtney McPhillips, Marie Murray, and Laura Carey, who win €20 each. Congratulations to all our winners! The Scotstown GAA online Lotto Draw takes place every Wednesday at 8:30pm with last entries at 8pm. The draw is conducted on-line and is fully automated using secure facilities. There are 4 numbers to choose from a range of 1 to 31. Match the 4 numbers to win the Jackpot of €6,000. If no jackpot winner €200 is rolled over to the following week. Also if there is no jackpot winner there will be lucky dips. Next draw is Wednesday October 30th at 8:30pm.
Ciste Draw
The October Ciste draw will take place this Saturday night, October 26th at 10:00pm, in the Social Club. You can purchase your Ciste tickets in our local shops. There are tickets, envelopes and collection boxes in each of these shops; McMahon Centra, Scotstown; XL Ballinode & Killylough, and in Knockatallon. You can also purchase your Ciste tickets using the Scotstown Clubforce website and clicking on ‘buy event tickets’ link. First prize €1,000 and 5 prizes of €100 must be won. In total €18,000 in prize money is won every year!
“Leave your Mark” Big Cash Prize Fundraiser

We have launched the Scotstown GAA online club shop for pre-Christmas orders! Please have all online orders placed ASAP here before the deadline of midnight this Sunday October 27th. All orders placed will be delivered 5 weeks later in time for Christmas! Junior Championship Final and Minor Championship Division 3 Final hosting
Our Chairman Cyril McCrudden states the following words of appreciation;
“Big thanks to everyone who helped out last Sunday at the junior championship final & minor final double header. In very tough weather conditions we stepped up and a great turnout of club volunteers helped everything run very smoothly. And thanks again to everyone who made themselves available at very short notice to assist with the search.

Health and Wellbeing
Scotstown GAA will continue this year with its Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. On October 17th there is a Ulster Healthy Club Provincial Night in Garvaghy, Tyrone.
Early in the year we continued the Make a Ceili initiative which was launched before Christmas. In January / February saw the start of the Operation Transformation walk, the Scotstown Ladies hosted a Women’s Health talk, a drugs and Alcohol awareness workshop with our coaches, and we had several card nights during the first quarter. During May we had the Hello How are you? Campaign and in August, a community event after the Blessing of the Graves. We will update future initiatives here.

Many thanks to all those involved in putting the flags and bunting up around in the villages of the parish for the finals with the Senior ladies league final last Sunday. Well done on a great job making the villages looking fantastic. We have our Senior men and Minor boys finals this weekend, so please if you already haven’t get all you’re An Bhoth flags and paraphernalia out and Paint the Parish Blue!

GAA Youth Forum – November 2nd
The GAA Youth Forum will be held in Croke Park on Saturday November 2nd, 2024.
The theme of the forum is ‘’Strengthening the youth voice for the next 140 years”.
The GAA Youth Forum will offer a range of interactive workshops and speakers with topics to be addressed including:
- Decision Making Structures
- Communications
- Coach Behaviour & Education
- Addressing Discrimination & Accessibility
- Development & Volunteering Opportunities
The flagship session of the GAA Youth Forum will be the Youth Congress which will see attendees voting on a set of proposals generated throughout the day.
The results of this Congress will be taken forward as recommendations by representatives of the GAA Youth Committee to GAA Congress 2025.
A maximum of 300 delegates between from 12 – 21 years old representing GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs will attend so don’t wait to express your interest.
