Latest Update - June 28th
Our gates opened on Wednesday, June 24th, and our adults have been out training. From Saturday 27th June our minors and juveniles can train at our facilities. Please keep mind the following;
1. The indoor buildings remain closed.
2. Please use the outdoor set of toilets
3. Only outdoor facilities can be used
4. Only people that are training are allowed on the pitch.
"GET IN, TRAIN, GET OUT!"
5. Please remember the 3 C's - Avoid Crowds, Avoid Closed Spaces, Avoid Close Contact

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee. These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.
This week:
Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour. Recommendations were made by the Covid-19 Advisory Committee this morning.
From June 29th:
The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). Our Blues Competitive Games in the past week
Minors
The Scotstown Minor boys A played Castleblayney on Sunday last in the Semi Final of the Minor Championship Division 1 in Truagh. Well done in their 5-11 to 2-7 win and qualifying for the final. Scotstown started strongly and were leading 1-4 to 0-2 after 15 minutes with fine scores including an excellent goal. Castleblaney responded well and with the wind at their backs reduced their deficit to 3 points with a scoreline 1-5 to 0-5 at half time. Scotstown started the second half in a similar manner as the commencement of the first half and on 10 minutes extended their lead to 7 points after a brilliant goal and 2 well placed points for play giving a score of 2-7 to 0-6. Two minutes later the Blues scored another excellent goal and added 2 more fine points to their tally with a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-6. Castleblayney responded strongly in the final quarter and scored 2 goals and a further point. However Scotstown scored 2 more brilliant goals and a further 2 well placed points to secure their place in the Minor Championship final. Congratulations to the team and management for making the final which is against Monaghan Harps om Sunday 27th October at 1:00pm. Venue TBC. We wish our Minors the very best in the final.
Senior Men
The Senior men had no games in the past week. The Senior men play Inniskeen in the Semi Final of the Greenfield Foods Monaghan Senior Football Championship Group 1 this Sunday 13th October at 3:45pm in Clones. We wish them all the best in the semi final on Sunday. This is part of a double header on the day with Clontibret playing Ballybay in the other semi final at 2:00pm.
Senior Ladies
The Senior Ladies qualified for the semi final of the LGFA Senior Division 1 League cup stages after finishing fourth in the league and were away to Emmet Og in Aghabog on Sunday last. Well done in their 3-14 to 0-8 win after a brilliant performance. The Ladies started strongly and were leading by 1-5 to 0-3 with a fine goal by Eabha Sherry. Just before half time the Blues extended their lead with another brilliant goal, this time by Alannah Corrigan making the half time score 2-7 to 0-3 to Scotstown. Scotstown started the second half strongly and Alannah Corrigan scored her second brilliant goal after 5 minutes. Scotstown continued to press on their advantage in the second half scoring a further 7 points and secured their place in the LGFA Senior League Cup final which will be against the county champions Emyvale. Date and venue TBC. Congratulations to the team and management.

Gaelic For Mothers and Others
The Gaelic for Mothers & Others have finished their outdoor training for this year. They are starting an indoor session in the Kilmore Hub on Thursdays at 7pm. This is a 6 week block costing €50. New members welcome. Come along and meet some new people and have a bit of fun while getting fit. Booking can be made through Glofox under Courses.
Moy Festival of Football
Well done to our Under 8, Under 10 & some of the Under 12 girls who participated in the Moy Festival of Football on Saturday 5th October. They played teams from all over Tyrone & Armagh including Moy Tir na nOg, Errigal Ciaran, Clonoe, Clann Eireann, Dromore, Omagh, Ballyhegan, Aodh Ruadh dungannon, St Paul's Lurgan, St Peter's Lurgan, Galbally. Scotstown GAA Online Club Lotto – Jackpot €5,600
Thanks to everyone involved in our online lotto draw for a €5,400 jackpot on Wednesday 9th October. Please see our Social Media platforms for more details of the results.
In the October 2nd draw, there was NO Jackpot winner. Numbers drawn on the night were 3, 19, 21, 22. There were NO match 3 winners. We had 5 Lucky-Dip winners, Siobhan Hegarty, Angela Corrigan, Fiona McKenna, Evelyn McGuirk, and Nessa Lyons
who win €20 each. Congratulations to all our winners! The Scotstown GAA online Lotto Draw takes place every Wednesday at 8:30pm with last entries at 8pm. The draw is conducted on-line and is fully automated using secure facilities. There are 4 numbers to choose from a range of 1 to 31. Match the 4 numbers to win the Jackpot of €5,600. If no jackpot winner €200 is rolled over to the following week. Also if there is no jackpot winner there will be lucky dips. Next draw is Wednesday October 16th at 8:30pm.

Health and Wellbeing
Scotstown GAA will continue this year with its Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. On October 17th there is a Ulster Healthy Club Provincial Night in Garvaghy, Tyrone.
Early in the year we continued the Make a Ceili initiative which was launched before Christmas. In January / February saw the start of the Operation Transformation walk, the Scotstown Ladies hosted a Women’s Health talk, a drugs and Alcohol awareness workshop with our coaches, and we had several card nights during the first quarter. During May we had the Hello How are you? Campaign and in August, a community event after the Blessing of the Graves. We will update future initiatives here.

GAA Youth Forum – November 2nd
The GAA Youth Forum will be held in Croke Park on Saturday November 2nd, 2024.
The theme of the forum is ‘’Strengthening the youth voice for the next 140 years”.
The GAA Youth Forum will offer a range of interactive workshops and speakers with topics to be addressed including:
- Decision Making Structures
- Communications
- Coach Behaviour & Education
- Addressing Discrimination & Accessibility
- Development & Volunteering Opportunities
The flagship session of the GAA Youth Forum will be the Youth Congress which will see attendees voting on a set of proposals generated throughout the day.
The results of this Congress will be taken forward as recommendations by representatives of the GAA Youth Committee to GAA Congress 2025.
A maximum of 300 delegates between from 12 – 21 years old representing GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs will attend so don’t wait to express your interest.
